Casket Plate Jewelry
I have always loved Victorian Casket Plates. The gentle curves, circling flowers and sentiment were fascinating to me. I bid on several pieces before I found my original. Since sculpture class in college, I have also loved molds. So, I combined the two skills to replicate my casket plates. I wanted to bring down costs, be able to change the color and to avoid spirit attachment. I was told, the original plate was removed from a stack of unused casket plates in an abandoned mortuary. Only the edges had oxidized so I believe the story to be true. Before I ship my necklaces, I salt & sage them, just to be sure. I wear the original, and I have never had a problem with it.
You can enjoy the beauty of a Victorian Casket Plate, in copper or silver for half-price of the originals. They are lightweight and fairly durable. Like any jewelry, they should be treated with some delicacy. Don’t throw them in the bottom of your purse. Mine are $65, and that includes USPS Priority Mail Shipping with tracking.
